Watercolour illustration and the Rider-Waite Smith structure sit side by side in this deck. The Luminous Flow Tarot depicts people from different cultures and backgrounds living through the familiar tarot moments, which gives the imagery a different kind of openness compared to most traditional decks.
The deck was designed by Ethony, a tarot teacher and author based in Vancouver, and illustrated by Beáta, a Hungarian illustrator now living in Scotland. That collaboration shows: the framework is systematic and recognisable, the visual language is delicate and colourful.
Beáta works with a translucent watercolour palette. Her lines are fine, the atmosphere dreamlike, shaped by a long-standing interest in mythology, folklore and fairy tales. The figures on the cards enact the classic tarot scenes, but with a range of faces and cultural references that older decks rarely include.
The cards measure 70 x 120 mm and are printed on 350 gsm card stock with a matte finish. That weight gives the cards substance without making them stiff, and the matte surface reduces glare under artificial light.
The deck includes a full-colour guidebook with card interpretations and spreads. Ethony built the system from her years of experience as a tarot teacher and reader. Because the guidebook is printed in full colour, the card images appear throughout and support the written descriptions.

Ethony is an author, tarot teacher and reader based in Vancouver, Canada. She has published 'Your Tarot Court' and 'Tarot Grimoire' through Llewellyn, and independently created and published several tarot and oracle decks, including the Cosmic Wisdom Tarot, the Modern Love Tarot and the Penumbra Tarot. She runs the Tarot Readers Academy, which teaches card reading globally.
Beáta studied glass design and then completed a university degree in costume and set design before working as an illustrator. She has created fashion and beauty illustrations for internationally known brands, but her interest also runs to mythology, folklore and spiritual themes. She works with both traditional and digital techniques. Born in Hungary, she now lives by the sea in Scotland and has worked with tarot cards for twenty years.
