Some oracle decks focus on a single tradition or symbol system. This one chooses diversity. Tammy Wampler has gathered elemental beings from different cultures and time periods and translated them into one visual language.

The result is a deck of 45 cards where art nouveau, fantasy and magical realism meet. The cards are large enough to show detail, small enough to shuffle comfortably.

What you see on the cards

Each figure carries characteristics of an element or a phase in a cycle. The visual language is decorative but not busy. Colours are saturated, contours clear.

Wampler works with a layered drawing style in which patterns and lines recur. The faces are expressive, the backgrounds often filled with natural elements or cosmic motifs.

The deck contains no written text on the cards themselves. The name of each being appears at the bottom, but further interpretation is up to you or must be found in other sources.

Who this deck works for

This oracle works best if you are already accustomed to working with images. There is no guidebook included with the deck, so interpretation lies entirely with you.

Many users draw a card at the beginning of a new phase, a seasonal change, or during a new or full moon. The symbolism lends itself to work with cycles and transitions.

Draw a card at the beginning of a new month and place it on your altar for a week. The images are rich enough to hold your attention longer.

Tammy Wampler is an artist living in Kentucky. Her background includes archaeology, reiki, massage and tarot. That combination shows in her work: she connects ancient mythology with contemporary spiritual practices.
