The Morgan Greer Tarot in Tin Box brings all 78 cards of the original deck into a compact format. The cards were illustrated by Bill F. Greer in collaboration with Lloyd Morgan and are published by U.S. Games Systems, Inc.
The most immediate thing you notice is the absence of borders. Each illustration fills the card completely, edge to edge, with no frame around it. The colours are deeply saturated and the facial expressions of the figures are pronounced.
The tin is purple-dark blue with gold lettering and a gold trim border. The lid shows a figure wearing a golden crown and red clothing, holding a sword, surrounded by red roses. The cards themselves are vivid: The Fool shows a figure with a white rose, a staff with a bundle, a white dog at their feet, and a mountain landscape behind them. The Three of Cups shows three female figures with flower garlands and golden cups, with fruit and lush leaves in the foreground. The Ace of Cups depicts a hand holding a large chalice with white wings, a pink lotus at the base, and a clouded sky. The backs of all cards are blue with white six-pointed stars in a scattered pattern.
Bill F. Greer created the illustrations in collaboration with Lloyd Morgan. Their expressive style and use of colour have kept this deck in continuous use since its original release.
The cards follow classical tarot symbolism, which makes the imagery familiar whether you are new to tarot or have been reading for years. The borderless illustrations in saturated colours keep the scenes easy to read.
