Not every tarot deck is drawn. This one is made from photo collages of real people in real environments, edited with digital elements into an atmospheric layer over the classic Rider-Waite structure.
Heidi Darras created the images, Barbara Moore wrote the guidebook. The result is a deck in which the familiar symbolism stays recognizable, but the execution feels different from a traditional drawn deck.
The images are built from photographs of models, landscapes and objects. That forms the base. Over that lie digital edits that give the scenes a dreamlike, sometimes slightly unreal atmosphere.
The colours are more muted than in many other Rider-Waite-based decks. Lots of blue, purple, grey. The lighting is soft, sometimes misty. That makes the cards quieter, but also less sharp than decks with clear lines and bright colours.
The symbolism follows Rider-Waite. The Hanged Man hangs, the Tower burns, the Two of Swords stands for choice. Anyone who knows that system will recognize it here immediately.
Barbara Moore wrote 240 pages about this deck. Each card gets an extensive discussion with meanings, reflection questions and connections to dream symbolism.
The text focuses on introspection and personal growth. Moore explains how a card can behave in a reading, but also how you can use it as a daily theme or as help with dream interpretation.
