Nature Quest Oracle - fifty cards about Taoist elements and natural harmony
Some oracle decks offer a card a day. Others ask for time. The Nature Quest Oracle belongs in that second category.
Theresa Hutch painted fifty watercolours, each connected to one of the five Taoist elements: Earth, Water, Wood, Metal and Fire. The accompanying 132-page guidebook combines texts from the Tao Te Ching with quotes from spiritual teachers such as Ram Dass and Thich Nhat Hanh. The result is an oracle that is both philosopher and image maker.
What you see on the cards
The watercolours are soft and almost translucent. Plenty of white space, natural forms, few hard lines. The colours are muted: ochre yellow, pale blue, soft shades of green and brown.
Each element gets its own colour family. Water cards are blue, Fire cards warmer, Wood cards green. No keywords on the cards themselves, only the name and element. What the card means, you find in the guidebook.
The finish is matte. The cards shuffle easily and rest quietly in the hand. The size is standard: 89 x 127 mm.
How the guidebook works
Each card gets three pages. An introduction that explains the element, a quote from the Tao Te Ching or a teacher, and a short text that translates the message into personal growth. The tone is reflective, not directive.
The guidebook contains no spreads. There is a description of how to work with one card a day, and how to find the element of the card in your surroundings. That last suggestion fits the theme: nature as a mirror for inner processes.
Draw a card and take it with you on a walk. See if you can spot the element or colour of the card in what you encounter along the way.
Who this deck is designed for
This deck is aimed at readers who are familiar with meditation or mindfulness. The texts assume you can appreciate silence and want to take time for reflection.
No drama, no urgency. This is an oracle for people who seek rest in philosophy and image.

Questions we often get
Are there keywords or meanings printed on the cards?
No. Each card shows only the name and the associated element. The meaning is in the guidebook.
Is prior knowledge of the Tao Te Ching required?
No. The guidebook explains each quote and translates the philosophy into everyday language. It does help if you are open to contemplative texts.
