Oracle of the Dragonfae - 43 cards, seven artists, one magical folk
Seven artists for one deck: that is not common. Lucy Cavendish chose this approach deliberately for Oracle of the Dragonfae. Each artist draws a different aspect of the same folk. The result is a deck that keeps you moving visually.
The deck contains 43 cards and focuses on the Dragonfae, beings that according to Cavendish live in realms such as Avalon, Atlantis, Mu and Ys. The cards have a matte finish and come in a sturdy hardcover box. The guidebook runs to 164 pages and is entirely in English.
What you see on the cards
The stylistic differences between the artists are clearly visible. Selina Fenech draws ethereal and light. Toni Carmine Salerno uses warm, glowing colours. Other artists choose darker, more intense imagery. That makes the deck visually varied.
The cards contain no keywords or text. For the meaning you rely on the guidebook. There you find a description, a message and background information about the being depicted on each card.
Recurring themes: protection, transformation, healing, earth magic and the remembering of ancient knowledge. The tone is activating. The texts address you directly.
How the guidebook works
The 164-page book goes deeper into each being. Cavendish describes not only what a card means, but also how you can work with that specific Dragonfae being. There are no spreads, but there are tips for attuning your energy to the cards.
The texts are rich and sometimes poetic. You can read them as activating messages or as stories that provide background to the image. For those with little experience of this kind of language: it is a style you need to be open to.
Hold a card briefly against your heart before you lay it. That helps you attune your own energy to the frequency of the deck.

Questions we often get
Why do the cards have no keywords?
Cavendish chose to let the images speak for themselves. The guidebook offers depth, but during a reading you rely on your intuition and what you see.
Is this deck suitable if you have little experience with oracle cards?
The guidebook is extensive and the messages are clear. However, the language is poetic and activating, which does not appeal to everyone. Read a sample page if you are unsure.
