Product information
Quên Lenormand - hand-painted watercolour by Duy Khanh Vo
Open the kraft cardboard box and you find a linen drawstring pouch and a deck of cards that looks unlike most Lenormand sets on the market. No print runs, no digital lines: every card was drawn by hand in pen and then painted in watercolour by Vietnamese artist Duy Khanh Vo. The colours shift from card to card, warm yellows, blues, greens, pinks, reds and oranges, each one painted individually.
Duy Khanh Vo self-publishes his sets in small editions. His earlier Quên Tarot was named best tarot deck of 2022. The word Quên means 'forgotten' in Vietnamese.
What you see on the cards
The classic Lenormand structure is immediately clear: each of the 41 cards carries a Roman numeral and, in the lower right corner, the corresponding playing card value. Beneath every image sits a short English phrase that adds a quiet second thought to the symbol. The House reads 'a place of safety', the Coffin 'where you begin a new world', the Birds 'open to good news'.
The cards have a white border and ungilded edges. The Rider card, visible in the product photos, shows a standing figure in a red cloak surrounded by flowers, plants, a sun and stars, with the words 'Myself' and 'Lost' printed beneath. Other cards spread in the background include Fish, Child and Anchor.
Who reads with this set
There is no guidebook included. The short phrases beneath each image sit alongside the classic symbol and reward readers who already know the Lenormand system. Duy Khanh Vo is from Hanoi and works as an artist, interior designer, 3D visualisation specialist and photographer. Over time, his editions become hard to find.
