Signs of the Times Oracle - everyday symbols as messages
There are oracle cards that focus on angels, stars or mythological figures. This deck looks at traffic signs, graffiti and the objects you pass on the street. Krystal Banner has built a system around the idea that the universe speaks through what you happen to encounter.
No classical symbolism, but modern imagery. A STOP sign as a signal to pause. An arrow as direction. A broken lamp as a sign that something no longer works. Recognizable objects, used as oracle language.
What you see on the cards
Each card shows an illustration of an everyday object or symbol. The style is clear and colourful, digitally drawn with enough detail to recognize the subject immediately. No abstract interpretations, just concrete images.
The companion booklet explains the meaning Banner gives to each symbol and how you can apply it. The explanations are accessible and leave room for your own interpretation.
How this deck works
The basis is synchronicity: the idea that you draw something and then encounter it in the physical world. Pull a card, remember the symbol, and notice whether you see it that day. It reinforces the idea that the world thinks along with you.
This asks for a different kind of attention than a traditional oracle. Not only looking inward, but also outward, at what is happening around you.
Draw a card before you leave the house and keep the symbol consciously in mind that day. Many people notice they start seeing variants of the same symbol.

Questions we often get
How does this differ from a traditional oracle deck?
Traditional decks often work with archetypes, elements or classical symbols. This deck uses objects from the contemporary world: traffic signs, neon lights, graffiti. The meanings are linked to what those objects do or express in daily life.
Do I need to actually encounter the card I draw?
No. The deck also works simply as an oracle on its own. The idea of looking for the symbol in the physical world is an extra layer, not a requirement.
