Not every oracle deck gives you two sides of the same card. This deck by Colette Baron-Reid does. Each card contains a Spirit Message for when you are in balance and a Protection Message for when you are not.

The deck counts 68 cards, from eagle to swan, from bee to octopus. The illustrations are atmospheric and colourful, without rendering the animals literally. They work as archetypal images, not as natural history.

What you see on the cards

The style is dreamlike and symbolic. Colours are saturated but not overwhelming. The soft satin finish prevents reflections, keeping the details visible during a reading.

Each animal carries specific qualities. The fox stands for adaptability, the wolf for community, the crow for transformation. The guidebook gives both messages for each archetype, with explanation of when to read which one.

What is the difference with the Dutch version 'Boodschappen van de Dieren'?
The content and illustrations are identical. The only difference is the language. The English version preserves Baron-Reid's original writing style, the Dutch is translated for easier reading.

How do I know which of the two messages to read?
The guidebook explains that both messages are always available. You read the Spirit Message first, then the Protection Message, and notice yourself which one resonates most with your situation.
