Spread Crafter's: Quest Expansion - 46 cards that turn readings into stories
Most oracle cards ask questions. This set gives your situation a plot. The Quest Expansion is a 46-card addition to Kimberly M. Tsan's Spread Crafter's series, built on structures borrowed from classic storytelling and tabletop roleplaying games.
That sounds more playful than it is. Behind the RPG framing sits a structured approach to self-reflection: each of the four categories pushes you to look at your situation from a different angle.
What you see on the cards
The cards are divided into four groups. The Journey sets the direction of your current process. The Encounter points to the people, forces or obstacles you meet along the way. The Treasure names the reward or lesson waiting at the end of this chapter. The Plot Twist challenges you to read your situation differently than you expected.
Visually, the set matches the rest of the series: clear, modern, colourful, with the signature lavender edges on 350gsm card stock and a silky matte finish. The cards measure 70 x 120 mm, standard tarot size.
How you work with it
The expansion is designed to work alongside the Spread Crafter's base set. You use the base cards to establish the core question for a position, then draw a Quest card to place that question in a narrative context. A base card about self-confidence reads differently when 'The Encounter' sits next to it.
Tsan also describes a 'Side Quest' method: draw a Quest card for any position that feels unclear to translate it into a concrete task or mission. For writers, there is a third application: use both sets together to link a character's emotional state to external plot events.
The Quest Expansion does not stand alone. If you do not own the base set, start there first. If you do, this expansion adds a layer of movement that makes readings more concrete and action-oriented.
About Kimberly M. Tsan
Kimberly M. Tsan founded Fables Den and is the designer behind both the Spread Crafter's series and the Way of the Panda Tarot. Her background is in creative writing, and that shows in how she builds her systems: not as lists of meanings, but as structures that generate stories.
She describes her work as combining psychological concepts with esoteric wisdom in an accessible, almost game-like way. The Quest Expansion is the clearest example of that approach.

Questions we often get
Can I use this expansion without the Spread Crafter's base set?
No. The Quest Expansion is designed as an addition to the existing Spread Crafter's system. Without the base set, the framework the cards operate within is missing.
What language are the cards and guidebook in?
Everything is in English: the cards themselves, the instruction cards and the included compact guidebook.
