Tarot de A.E. Waite Standard Blue Edition Spanish - the Rider-Waite deck in Spanish
Almost every modern tarot deck goes back to these cards. The illustrations Pamela Colman Smith made in 1909 for Arthur Edward Waite are still the foundation for how tarot is read and taught.
This edition is published by AGM Urania and contains the full 78 cards: all twenty-two trumps and the four suits of court cards and numbered cards. The cards and guidebook are in Spanish.
What sets this edition apart
The colours in this Blue Edition are based on the original 1909 printing. That means slightly brighter tones than you sometimes see in later versions. The cards are printed on sturdy cardstock with a matte finish, which reduces shuffling noise and wear.
The storage box is finished in blue. It has a solid construction and simple design. The guidebook gives the basic meanings of the cards and explains the structure of the Major and Minor Arcana.
Who this deck works for
This deck is designed for beginners. The imagery on all 78 cards is figurative and recognisable, so you do not need to memorise what a set of abstract symbols means. You see what is happening.
Even if you already have experience with other decks, this system remains the reference point. Most tarot books and courses refer to these cards.
Draw one card in the morning and place it in front of you. Look at the image for a few seconds before checking the meaning. What do you see? That is often enough to work with.
About Arthur Edward Waite and Pamela Colman Smith
Arthur Edward Waite was a British occultist and member of the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn. He designed the symbolic structure of this deck and decided which images should appear on which cards.
Pamela Colman Smith was the illustrator. She drew all 78 cards over a period of six months. Her work was groundbreaking: for the first time, the numbered cards also received fully illustrated scenes instead of just a pattern of symbols.

Questions we often get
What is the difference between this Blue Edition and other Rider-Waite editions?
This edition has a specific colour balance that stays close to the original 1909 printing. The storage box is blue instead of yellow or green, which appears in other editions. The guidebook is in Spanish.
Can I use this deck if I do not speak Spanish?
Yes. The cards themselves contain only titles, not long texts. If you already know the Rider-Waite meanings or use a reference book in your own language, you can work without Spanish. The guidebook is only in Spanish.
