Born in Brooklyn, New York, he lost his father at a young age and moved to England with his mother. His interest in esotericism began after the death of his sister. Waite joined the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn and later Freemasonry. He wrote extensively on divination, esotericism, and Kabbalism, publishing works such as The Book of Ceremonial Magic and The Holy Kabbalah. He married twice and had one daughter. His influence on the esoteric world remains significant.
