Tarot of the Holy Spectrum: Color Me Edition - 78 line drawings waiting for your colour
Not every deck arrives ready to use. This one by Chase Voorhees asks for a pencil, a marker, or whatever you have at hand. 78 black and white line drawings, printed on heavy 350 gsm art paper. No colour, no interpretation, no fixed meanings in a booklet.
The idea is simple: by colouring the cards yourself, you force yourself to look at every detail. What colour does the Moon get? What tone suits the Swords? These are choices that make you conscious of what a card means to you.
What you get
All 78 tarot cards as black and white line drawings. The back is white, the edges unfinished. The paper is thick enough to take coloured pencil, marker or fine pen without bleeding through.
There is no guidebook. This is a deliberate choice. Voorhees assumes you will learn the cards by colouring them, not by reading a text.
The box is magnetic, white, with a holographic infinity loop embossed on the surface. Sturdy enough to store the deck once you are done.
How this works in practice
Some people colour one card per day and use it as a daily reflection. Others tackle the whole deck at once and turn it into a longer meditative session. Both approaches work.
Because you choose the colours yourself, you end up with a deck that is yours alone. No two copies are the same. That makes it personal, but also vulnerable: you cannot start over without buying a new deck.
Test your materials on the edge of a card first. Alcohol-based markers give vibrant, opaque colours. Coloured pencil gives more nuance and keeps the linework visible.
Not for everyone
This is not a deck for anyone who wants to start reading quickly. Colouring takes time. If you prefer to start right away, the standard coloured edition of this deck is a better choice.
It also requires a willingness to work without a guidebook. You need to know the cards already, or be prepared to learn them through other sources.
About Chase Voorhees
Chase Voorhees is a multidisciplinary artist who translates traditional tarot symbolism into clean, modern line drawings. His work is defined by clarity and space for interpretation.
With the Tarot of the Holy Spectrum series, he creates decks that are both art and functional tool. The Color Me Edition is the most radical example: a deck that only functions once the user becomes co-creator.

Questions we often get
What colouring materials work best?
The 350 gsm paper is sturdy enough for coloured pencils, fineliners and alcohol-based markers. Always test on an edge first. We do not recommend watercolour, as it may cause the paper to warp.
How does this deck differ from the standard coloured edition?
The standard edition is fully coloured and comes with a guidebook. This Color Me Edition is black and white, without a guidebook, and designed as an interactive project.
