Liz Huston created the artwork through a multi-layered process of photography, digital compositing and paint, producing surreal, dreamlike imagery unlike most oracle decks. The 51 cards are structured around the four classical elements plus a fifth direction: the Center.

Product information

The Dreamkeepers Oracle - 51 cards structured around the Heroine's Journey

Most oracle decks give you a collection of archetypes or themes to draw from freely. The Dreamkeepers Oracle works differently. Its 51 cards form a closed system with its own internal logic: 17 archetypes, each supported by three cards that represent that archetype's gift, lesson and challenge. When you pull a card, you are pulling it within a larger map.

That map is the Heroine's Journey, a 17-step structure based on Joseph Campbell's monomyth, reinterpreted here as an inward, feminine-centred path of self-discovery. The four classical elements, Air, Fire, Water and Earth, organise the cards into groups. A fifth direction, the Center, anchors the whole system.

What the cards look like

Liz Huston builds her images through a multi-layered process combining photography, digital compositing and paint. The results are surreal and dreamlike, with a dark esoteric quality that sets this deck apart visually from most of what is on the market. The Maiden, the Seeker, the Warrior and the Trickster all appear as recurring figures, each with their own distinct visual language.

The cards measure 86 x 127 mm and are printed on sturdy cardstock built to handle regular shuffling. The box measures 130 x 175 mm.

What the guidebook covers

The 160-page illustrated guidebook works through all 17 archetypes in depth and includes spreads. The emphasis throughout is on shadow work: integrating the darker aspects of yourself rather than pushing them away. That approach shapes the tone of the entire guidebook.

This is not a deck where you draw a card and get a brief keyword. The descriptions are substantial and reward careful reading.

Pull a card, then read the full archetype description in the guidebook. Note which of the three cards belonging to that archetype you drew, and consider what that tells you about where you are on your path.
