The Light Within: Affirmations - 54 cards with art and positive intentions
Some affirmation decks focus mainly on text, others on imagery. This deck does both. Jody Bergsma's cards combine affirmations with her signature dreamlike style, where natural elements and spiritual symbols come together.
The format stands out. The cards are large enough to see the details in Bergsma's work clearly. The cardstock is sturdy, the finish smooth. The storage box holds everything together.
What you see on the cards
Bergsma works with watercolor techniques and a color palette that often contains soft tones. Many cards show figures in a natural setting, with symbols that reference spiritual themes. The images are not abstract, but painted with a gently dreamlike atmosphere.
Each card contains an affirmation. Not long sentences, but short statements focused on self-confidence, inner peace or spiritual growth. The affirmations appear on the card itself, so you see them immediately when you draw a card.
The guidebook runs to 184 pages. For each card you will find reflections and quotes that deepen the affirmation. It is more than an explanation, it is material to work with.
How you work with it
This deck is designed for daily use. Draw a card, read the affirmation, look at the image. You can set the card down and carry the affirmation with you throughout the day.
Because of the large format and visual execution, the cards also work well in combination with other decks. Many people use them at the end of a tarot or oracle reading as a closing message.
Place the card you draw face up on the table and leave it there. Look at it a few times during the day. The combination of image and text works differently than a loose affirmation on paper.

Questions we often get
Can I use this deck if I have never worked with affirmation cards before?
Yes. The affirmations are clearly worded and the guidebook explains how to use them. You do not need any experience to start working with them.
What is the difference between this deck and a standard affirmation card?
The format and the art. These are large cards with full illustrations, not just text on a background. The guidebook also offers more depth than a loose card with an affirmation.
