The One World Tarot - minimalist imagery for personal intuition
Not every deck fills the card to the edges. The One World Tarot chooses the opposite: less detail, more open space. The illustrations show colour and form, without fixing every symbol in place.
Designed by Lena Rodriguez and Seanna Rose, with contributions from June Rifkin and illustrations by Alexandra Filipek. The emphasis is on inclusivity, not as a sales pitch but as a design choice. Gender-fluid figures, different skin tones, no traditional stereotypes. The deck follows the structure of a classic tarot, but breaks with the imagery that has accompanied it for centuries.
What you see on the cards
The illustrations are flat and simple. Few details, plenty of open space. Colours are soft and muted, lines are clean. It looks like a children's book for adults, or modern poster art.
That sparseness is intentional. Rodriguez and Rose state that they wanted to create room for personal intuition. Fewer symbols means fewer fixed meanings, which some will appreciate and others will miss.
The cards measure 125 x 180 mm, larger than standard. They are laminated, which makes them smooth to shuffle and protects them during daily use.
How you work with it
The included guidebook is extensive and in English. In addition to card meanings, it offers spreads and practical applications. That makes the deck accessible for those who have never worked with tarot before.
At the same time, the imagery asks for an active role. Because there is little shown, you have to fill in more yourself. Some people find that liberating, others miss the structure. If you are used to the symbol-rich world of a Rider-Waite or Thoth, this feels different.
Pull a card and look only at colour and form first, before you open the guidebook. The minimalist style works well for blind readings, where your intuition does the first pass.

Questions we often get
How does this deck relate to the Rider-Waite?
The structure is the same: 78 cards, the same arcana. The imagery differs strongly. Where the Rider-Waite is full of symbols, this deck opts for spare forms and open compositions. If you are used to traditional symbolism, this deck asks for a different way of looking.
Are there keywords on the cards?
No. The cards show only illustrations and the card name. For meanings you refer to the guidebook, or you trust what you see.
