Rune Vision Cards - Norse runes translated into archetypal images
The Futhark rune script is abstract. Each sign carries meaning, but for those who do not work with it daily, it remains mostly lines and angles. Miranda Gray has broken through that abstraction and translated each rune into an image you can feel directly.
This oracle deck contains 25 cards, one for each rune in the Elder Futhark alphabet. The style is mystical and nature-oriented, with rich colours and forms that refer back to the landscape and mythology of Northern Europe. This is not a reproduction of historical rune stones, but a contemporary interpretation.
What you see on the cards
Instead of just the rune sign, each card shows an archetypal image. A tree, a storm sky, a closed gate, a female figure. The symbolism is built on the meaning of the rune itself, but also works without prior knowledge.
The cards have a glossy finish, measure 88 x 126 mm, and are printed on sturdy cardstock. Large enough to see the images clearly, compact enough to carry daily. The guidebook runs to 144 pages and contains meanings, meditations and spreads such as the rune cross.
How you work with them
You can approach this deck in two ways. The first is classical: you read the meaning of the rune, apply it to your question, use the symbolism as handed down through generations. The second is intuitive: you look at the image, let it work on you, and trust your feeling before you open the text.
Both directions work. Many people start with the second and go deeper into the written meanings later.
Draw a card without opening the guidebook. Look at the colours, the shape, the atmosphere for a full minute. Write down what you feel. Only then read the description and compare.

Questions we often get
Do I need to know anything about runes to work with this deck?
No. The images are designed to carry meaning even without prior knowledge. The guidebook explains the background, but you can also work intuitively.
What is the difference between this deck and traditional rune stones?
Rune stones show only the sign itself. This deck adds visual language to that, which helps with remembering and visualising the meaning. It makes the system more accessible for those who think visually.
