Product information
The Sasuraibito Tarot - pocket - watercolour tarot in pocket size
Sasuraibito means 'wandering traveller' in Japanese. This pocket version of Stasia Burrington's tarot is made for those who want their cards always within reach. Not as a compromise, but as a deliberate choice.
The deck follows the Rider-Waite structure, but the visual language stems from Burrington's Japanese-American background. Soft watercolour combined with black sumi ink. Figures in modern clothing placed in classic tarot situations. Buddhist influences without becoming explicitly religious.
What you hold in your hand
The cards measure 57 x 102 mm. Small, but not too small to shuffle comfortably. The 300gsm linen cardstock feels sturdy and has a matte texture that slides smoothly.
This version has no gilded edges, unlike the standard edition. That gives the cards a quieter appearance. The storage box is solid cardboard with gold details on the lid.
The fold-out guide contains brief meanings for each card. No extensive explanations, but enough to start with or refresh your memory.
How this deck behaves
The Sasuraibito Tarot asks for a quiet pace. The watercolour tones are soft, the faces of the figures often lost in thought. This is not a deck that demands attention.
Many people use the pocket format for a daily card while on the move. On the train, during a break, before sleep. It fits in an inside pocket, a handbag, even a large coat pocket.
Draw one card in the morning and place it beside your coffee. The compact format means you can easily keep it with you all day, as a small anchor.
About Stasia Burrington
Stasia Burrington is an artist from Seattle with Japanese and American roots. That combination shows in her work: Western tarot symbolism translated into an East Asian visual language.
Her illustrations are recognizable by their soft colours and attention to everyday moments. Figures drink tea, sit in gardens, pause by a window. That makes the cards accessible.

Questions we often get
Are the cards too small to work with?
That depends on your hands and your habits. For most people, 57 x 102 mm is small but not unworkable. You adapt quickly. If you have large hands or difficulty with fine motor skills, the standard version may be more comfortable.
What is the difference from the regular Sasuraibito Tarot?
The format and finish. The standard version is larger and has gilded edges. This pocket version has a matte finish without gold and is designed to be portable. The illustrations are identical.
