Oracle cards about self-love are plentiful. Most are uplifting and light. This deck sits somewhere in between: gentle in tone, but not always easy in what it asks.

Janet Chui is an artist from Singapore who translated her own struggle with self-acceptance into 44 cards. The images are painted in watercolour and show mythical figures, plants and animals. Each card contains a short message, focused on themes like setting boundaries, making space for vulnerability and forgiveness.

What you see on the cards

The imagery is soft: lots of pastel colours, flowing lines, no sharp contrasts. Dragons, fairies, flowers and stones appear as symbols of inner strength or gentleness. The watercolour technique means colours bleed into each other. That fits the tone of the deck.

The texts on the cards are short and direct. They name a feeling or an action, no detours. 'You are allowed to take up space', 'Forgive yourself for what you did not know then'. That kind of sentence.

How you work with it

This is a deck for daily use. The format is compact enough to keep in a bag or on a desk. Many people pull one card in the morning and let the message travel with them through the day.

The cards assume you are willing to look at yourself. Not every deck about self-love asks that so directly. This one does.

Place the card you draw somewhere you will see it all day. Look again a few times and notice whether the message shifts as the day moves forward.
