Trinity Tarot - tarot without gender, with minimalist imagery
Most tarot decks work with king, queen, knight and page. This one does not. Ari Wisner replaces those titles with 'The Crown', 'The Throne', 'The Sword' and 'The Apprentice'. No gender, no role pattern, only the core of the archetype.
It is a choice that goes beyond renaming a card. The imagery is minimalist, with clean lines and a limited colour palette. There is nothing to distract from what the card says.
What you see on the cards
The illustrations strip Rider-Waite-Smith back to the essentials. No detailed backgrounds, no decorative flourishes. Each image is built from what is needed to convey the meaning.
The cards are square, 76 by 76 millimetres. That feels different from a classic tarot format. You shuffle them differently, you lay them out differently. The format makes you more conscious of how you handle the cards.
All cards are printed on sturdy 310 gsm cardstock with a water-based varnish. Production is entirely plastic-free. The box is solid enough to withstand daily use.
Who this deck works for
This deck is designed for beginners. It comes with a prompt sheet listing all card meanings. You can start reading straight away without a guidebook.
But the minimalism also asks something of you. Without detailed imagery you need to draw more from yourself. The card gives the direction, you fill in the rest. That can be clearer than a busy illustration, or harder if you are used to a lot of visual cues.
Keep the prompt sheet next to your cards during your first readings. The keywords offer guidance without locking down the interpretation.

Questions we often get
Why square cards instead of a standard tarot format?
The square format makes the cards more compact and changes how they sit in the hand. You can carry them easily, and shuffling demands more attention. Some people find that pleasant, others need time to adjust.
Does this come with a full guidebook?
No. It comes with a prompt sheet listing the keywords for each card. Enough to get started, not enough for detailed background on symbolism or spreads.
