Wicked Moon Tarot - 78 cards through the Wheel of the Year
Most tarot cards stand alone. The Wicked Moon Tarot does not. A young witch travels through four realms here, each tied to a season, and her story runs as a continuous thread through the entire deck. That gives this set a coherence you rarely find elsewhere.
The structure follows the Wheel of the Year, the cycle of eight seasonal festivals from neopagan traditions, known as the Sabbats. Illustrator Lunastorta and writer Giorgia Farano did not use that framework as decoration. It is the backbone of the whole design.
What you see on the cards
Each season has its own colour palette. Spring brings light tones and growth; winter brings dark colours and stillness. The imagery follows the energy of each point in the year, not arbitrarily but as a deliberate choice throughout.
The main figure returns across multiple cards. You watch her develop as the seasons progress, from emergence in spring to withdrawal in winter. Lunastorta combines watercolour with digital techniques, working with mythology and feminine archetypes as her starting point.
The cards measure 70 x 120 mm, slightly narrower than standard Rider-Waite size. They have silver gilt edges and a smooth coating, and they shuffle easily.
How to work with it
The seasonal structure makes this deck useful for readings about timing and rhythm. Which phase are you in right now? What does this season ask of you? Those questions arise naturally when you hold this deck.
You can also work deliberately with the Sabbats: during one of the eight festivals, draw a card from the realm that belongs to that season. The guidebook explains how the four realms relate to each other and how to use the cards for ritual work.
Look at what the witch is doing on a card at that moment in her journey. That image can act as a mirror for your own phase in the year.
About Lunastorta and Giorgia Farano
Lunastorta is an Italian artist working in watercolour and digital techniques. Her work combines mythology, nature and feminine archetypes. For this deck she created a character who moves through the seasons without the narrative becoming prescriptive.
Giorgia Farano writes and teaches neopagan spirituality. She runs the Witches' Academy in Glastonbury, where she has built more than ten years of experience in witchcraft and ritual practice. Her texts in the guidebook connect the card images to practical applications within paganism.

Questions we often get
Does this deck follow the standard Rider-Waite structure?
Yes, there are 78 cards divided into major and minor arcana. The imagery is entirely original though, built around the Wheel of the Year rather than classical Rider-Waite symbolism.
Do I need to know neopagan traditions to use this deck?
No. The guidebook explains the seasonal cycles and the eight Sabbats. You can work with this deck without any ritual background, using the witch's journey and the seasonal themes as your guide.
