Yggdrasil Norse Divination Cards - 81 cards through the nine worlds
Norse mythology does not do half measures. Gods who sacrifice themselves for wisdom, giants who threaten the cosmos, a tree that binds all worlds together. This 81-card deck gathers those stories and symbols into a working oracle system.
Haukur Hawk Halldorsson, Icelandic artist and spiritual teacher, has drawn each of the cards in pen and ink. The style recalls historic runic inscriptions: sharp, raw, without decorative flourishes. The guidebook explains the connections between the cards, the Eddas, and the archetypal patterns that fill the Norse tradition.
What you see on the cards
The deck is divided across different categories. You will find gods such as Odin, Freyja and Thor, each with their own domain and power. Cosmic beings also appear: Nidhogg, the serpent gnawing at the roots of the world tree, or Yggdrasil itself, the axis around which everything turns.
Runes are part of the system too. They function as keys to older layers of meaning. The drawing style is consistent throughout: black and white, tight linework, no colour or shading. That makes the symbolism directly readable.
The cardstock is sturdy and matte finished. The cards measure 89 x 127 mm, slightly smaller than standard tarot cards. That makes them easy to shuffle and lay out.
How you work with them
The guidebook describes each card separately: what story lies behind it, what questions the card can illuminate, how to read the symbolism. There are no fixed spreads, but the explanations are detailed enough to start working with on your own.
Many people use this deck for daily draws. One card in the morning gives an archetypal lens for the day. Others lay larger patterns to view a situation from different worlds. The nine worlds of Norse cosmology lend themselves well to that kind of structure.
When in doubt, pull a card and read the corresponding story in the guidebook. The mythology itself often gives more direction than the card in isolation.

Questions we often get
Do I need to know the Eddas to work with this deck?
No. The guidebook gives enough context for each card. The stories are explained as they relate to the card. You do not need prior knowledge.
How does this deck differ from a rune set?
Runes are part of this deck, but the system is broader. Alongside the 24 runes there are cards for gods, beings and cosmic principles. It works more as a complete oracle system than as a traditional rune set.
