Druidic Tarot - Celtic mythology in ethereal imagery
The druids read the future in the behaviour of animals, the position of stars and the growth of trees. This deck translates that tradition into tarot. Each card connects a classic tarot archetype with an element from Celtic nature religion.
Illustrator David Lopes draws with a dreamlike, almost transparent style. His figures seem to step halfway out of the mist, surrounded by oak leaves, sacred animals and seasonal symbols. The colours are soft but clear: lots of green, gold and light blue.
What you see on the cards
The Major Arcana follows the Rider-Waite-Smith structure, but the imagery is replaced entirely by Celtic figures and scenes. The High Priestess becomes a druidic seer, The Fool a young traveller on the way to the sacred groves.
The Minor Arcana is divided by the four elements, each linked to natural cycles. Wands refer to fire and the sun, Cups to water and the moon, Swords to air and wind, Pentacles to earth and harvest.
Each card carries small details that reference Celtic festivals, plant symbolism or animal guides. Those layers reveal themselves as you work with the deck.
How you work with it
The 128-page guidebook covers each card from both its traditional tarot meaning and Celtic symbolism. It also includes several spreads aligned with the seasons and the druidic calendar.
The ethereal style makes this deck well suited to intuitive readings. The images speak directly, without hard-edged boundaries. That does require you to trust your own interpretation.
Draw a card during a walk in the woods and notice how the environment colours the meaning of the card. This deck works best in contact with nature.

Yes, the 78 cards follow the traditional tarot structure. The imagery is replaced by Celtic symbolism, but the basic archetypes remain recognisable. If you know RWS, you will find your way.
Do I need knowledge of Celtic mythology to use this deck?
No. The guidebook explains the symbolism for each card. Prior knowledge helps you recognise details, but it is not a requirement. The images also work intuitively.
