Amy Brown has a style many people know from fantasy posters, art prints and book covers. Her fairies are detailed, colourful and lush. This oracle deck brings that visual language together with texts by Lucy Cavendish, who has worked on several oracle collaborations in the field of spirituality.
The deck contains 44 cards, each with a title such as 'Abundance', 'Joy' or 'Wisdom'. The guidebook gives an explanation for each card, a short affirmation and sometimes a background story about the depicted fairy. This is not a tarot deck, but an oracle system without fixed structure. You draw a card and read what belongs to it.
The cards are full. Much colour, much detail. Brown works with a clear digital style in which the faces are expressive and the surroundings are filled with flowers, leaves, butterflies and sometimes gemstones. The fairies often wear wings that seem inspired by dragonflies or butterflies, sometimes more abstract.
The matte finish softens the colours slightly, making the whole less glossy than you might expect based on the original artworks. The cardstock is sturdy enough for daily use. The cards measure 89 x 127 mm, which is a standard size for oracle decks.
