Faery Magic Message Cards

Faery Magic Message Cards - messages from Celtic and Romani folklore

Not every oracle deck asks much of you. This one does not. Faery Magic Message Cards by Sharon McLeod consists of 55 cards with positive messages, each illustrated with dreamlike images of faeries, gnomes and nature spirits. The texts are printed directly on the cards and short enough to take in at a glance.

The cards are published by Blue Angel Publishing and packed in a sturdy box with magnetic closure. The 100 x 140 mm format does justice to the illustrations. The cardstock has a glossy finish, which makes shuffling a little slippery but also ensures a durable card.

What you see on the cards

The imagery is dreamlike and colourful. Each card shows a scene from the Faery realm: faeries among flowers, animals representing a particular energy, or natural elements such as water and fire. The style is accessible and has something fairytale-like about it, without tipping into kitsch.

The title sits at the top of the card, the affirmation or message at the bottom. Everything is in English, but the texts are simple and brief. You do not need a dictionary to understand them.

The symbolism draws on Celtic traditions and Romani folklore. You notice this in the choice of animals and plants, and in the way the elements are depicted. It is not a historically rigorous reference work, but rather a contemporary interpretation of old stories.

Who this works for

This deck is designed for daily use. Pull a card, read the message, and go about your day. No complicated spreads, no prior knowledge required. That also makes it suitable for children or for people working with oracle cards for the first time.

The positive tone can sometimes feel a little one-dimensional. If you are looking for a deck that also addresses shadow work, this is not the set you reach for. But for those who need a bright spot, an affirmation or a gentle nudge, it works well.

Pull a card each morning and set it beside your coffee. Let the message come along for the day without overthinking it.

About Sharon McLeod

Sharon McLeod is an Australian artist and spiritual author. Her family history includes Celtic and Romani roots, and you see that reflected in her work. She makes cards intended as a bridge between the physical world and what she calls the magical.

Her style combines accessibility with symbolism. The images are recognisable enough to speak directly, but contain enough layers for those who look longer.

Questions we often get

Does a guidebook come with the cards?
No. The messages are printed entirely on the cards themselves. You can start working with them immediately without reading a booklet first.

Are the cards suitable for children?
Yes. The images are soft and fairytale-like, and the messages are positive and simply phrased. Children who can read English can use this deck independently.
