Gypsy Oracle Cards - 19th-century Italian oracle in reproduction
This is not tarot. The Gypsy Oracle Cards work with their own system of 52 cards. No major arcana, no court cards like you know from the Rider-Waite. This is a reproduction of a nineteenth-century Italian oracle, also known as Sibilla della Zingara.
The illustrations are straightforward: a scene, a title, a meaning. Each card carries a name that tells you immediately what it is about. Hope. Betrayal. Joy. What you see is what you get.
What you see on the cards
The imagery is historical. Nineteenth-century clothing, classical interiors, recognizable outdoor scenes. The colour palette is nostalgic, with lots of beige, ochre and muted tones.
The cards show everyday events: people in conversation, social gatherings, work, farewell, homecoming. The symbolism is not abstract. You see what is there.
Each card has a title in Italian, which strengthens the historical feel. The multilingual guidebook gives meanings in five languages, including English, French and Spanish.
How you work with it
This deck is designed to give quick answers to concrete questions. The messages are direct. Many people use it for daily card draws or small spreads about relationships and social dynamics.
The cards shuffle easily. The format is compact, 66 x 96 mm, with a smooth finish. They feel sturdy and hold up to daily use.
Draw a card without a question and notice what the image brings up before you open the guidebook. The pictures often speak for themselves.
