The system comes from cartomancy, a French fortune-telling tradition that works with a reduced deck of 32 cards instead of the 78 in a tarot deck. The questions you ask are concrete: is this relationship going anywhere, should I have that conversation, what do I pay attention to this week. No philosophical detours, just clear directions.
Each of the 32 cards shows a classic symbol from the playing card tradition: hearts, diamonds, spades and clubs. Below that, the meaning is written in French. No references to abstract archetypes, just direct statements about love, health and money.
The design is sober and functional. The text is legible, the cards are in standard poker size (65 x 90 mm) and feel comfortable in your hand. This is not an art edition, but a working deck.
The accompanying booklet describes five spreads. Some are for one question, others for an overview of a situation. Because the meanings are already on the cards, you do not need to flip back and forth. You lay the cards, read what they say, and interpret from your own situation.
This deck is designed for beginners. You do not need prior knowledge of tarot or cartomancy. What helps is a concrete question and the willingness to take the text on the card seriously, even if the answer turns out differently than you hoped.

Do I need to know French to use this deck?
It helps. The meanings on the cards and the instructions in the booklet are written in French. If you read basic French, you will get quite far. For those who do not speak French at all, it becomes difficult.
What is the difference between this deck and a standard tarot deck?
La Voyante works with 32 cards instead of 78 and comes from a different tradition. The spreads are more compact, the answers more direct. Tarot works more with archetypes and layers of meaning, cartomancy with concrete statements.
