Norse Goddess Rune Oracle - runes and goddesses in one oracle
Most rune sets are plain. Stones, wooden discs, maybe a simple symbol. This oracle takes a different approach: each rune from the Elder Futhark is paired with a goddess, a story, an image that brings the abstract form closer to you.
Rebecca Joy Stark is a völva who has worked with runes in her practice for years. Sharon McLeod draws figures that float between dream and landscape. Together they have created a set that makes the runes readable without stripping away their depth.
What the cards look like
The style is soft and ethereal. Lots of pastel tones, lots of natural elements: water, trees, rocks, mist. The goddesses often stand in a landscape, sometimes facing forward, sometimes in profile. The runes themselves are clearly visible on each card.
The card size is 90 x 130 mm, slightly larger than standard playing cards. The finish is satin, which means they glide smoothly through your hands and do not stick together when shuffling.
What is in the guidebook
The guidebook runs to 160 pages and explains each card in terms of the rune, the goddess and how they work together. Stark writes from her experience as a rune practitioner, with attention to symbolism and application in daily life.
There are no elaborate spreads. The focus is on understanding the individual cards and how to interpret them in a reading.
Draw a card and carry the rune with you for a day. Notice how the energy shows itself in small things: a conversation, a choice, a mood.
Who this deck works for
You do not need experience with runes to use this oracle. The images and texts provide enough support. At the same time the deck offers enough depth for people who already work with runes and want to approach the Elder Futhark from a different perspective.
The emphasis on feminine mythology makes this oracle suitable for those drawn to goddess energy and who want to explore the Norse tradition beyond the familiar male figures such as Odin and Thor.

Questions we often get
What is the difference between this oracle and a traditional rune set?
This oracle combines runes with goddess imagery and stories. A traditional set consists of individual stones or discs with only the rune symbol. Here you get a visual interpretation and a mythological layer that deepens the meaning for each rune.
Does the guidebook include information about seiðr or other Norse practices?
The guidebook focuses on the runes and the goddesses themselves. Stark writes from her background as a völva, but the text does not contain extensive instructions on seiðr or rituals. The focus is on working with the cards.
