Oracle of the Vampire Fae
Tess Whitehurst grounds this oracle in the baobhan sith, Scottish vampire faeries from folklore said to rise whenever someone is abused or controlled under the guise of love. Mélanie Delon illustrated the 52 cards in deep blues, blacks and gold using a classically-influenced digital painting style. The guidebook goes straight to the meaning of each card, without detours.

Oracle of the Vampire Fae - Scottish vampire faery oracle with layered guidebook
Most dark oracles lean on atmosphere. This one does not. Tess Whitehurst builds the deck around the baobhan sith, pronounced 'boe-bun-SHEE': a Scottish race of vampire faeries who, according to legend, rise whenever someone is abused, controlled or exploited under the pretence of love or protection. That is a sharper foundation than most oracles choose.
The 52 cards are illustrated by Mélanie Delon, a French freelance illustrator who studied Art History at the Sorbonne before moving into digital illustration. Her style combines fantasy with a classical-romantic painting technique. The figures on the cards, women, wolves, ravens and other forms, look both dreamlike and precise.
What you see and read on the cards
The imagery draws on painted realism in deep colours: heavy blues, blacks and gold, with dramatic lighting. The mood is dark, but not oversexualised or eerie for the sake of it. Each card carries a name and a short keyword phrase for quick reference.
In the guidebook, a compact interpretation appears at the top of each entry, followed by the full card description. Most descriptions go straight to meaning without spending much time describing what is shown in the image. That makes the guidebook practical and direct.
What sets this apart
Vampire decks have a reputation for being gimmicky. This one is not. The theme of the baobhan sith, protection, justice and restoring disrupted balance, runs consistently through the whole oracle. The tone is direct and does not soften its edges.
Those familiar with Tess Whitehurst's earlier work will recognise her approach: grounded, practical, without varnish. Her Queen Mab Oracle shares a similar energy but is lighter in tone and colour. The Oracle of the Vampire Fae is darker and focuses specifically on breaking destructive patterns.
Pull a card when you sense a situation is draining you but cannot quite name why. The directness of the card descriptions tends to cut through quickly.
