Tarot del Toro

Tarot del Toro

Guillermo del Toro personally commissioned Spanish illustrator Tomás Hijo, a professor at the University of Salamanca and specialist in myths and folklore, to translate his film universe into tarot. The cards draw on Pan’s Labyrinth, The Shape of Water, Crimson Peak and Hellboy, rendered in thick lines and a muted palette of earth tones, gold and deep red. The Magician wears Del Toro’s own face.

  • Language: English
  • Quality: Matte finish, sturdy card stock, embossed collector’s box
  • Contents: 78 cards and an 88-page full-colour guidebook

Hijo’s woodcut-style linework gives these cards the weight of handmade prints, not digital illustrations.
