After Tarot shows what happens directly after the familiar moment on each Rider-Waite card. The deck was conceived by Pietro Alligo and illustrated by Giulia F. Massaglia, both connected to the publisher Lo Scarabeo. If you already work with the Rider-Waite system, you will recognise the scenes straight away.

Most tarot cards capture a moment: someone stands somewhere, something is happening. After Tarot begins exactly where those images leave off. Each of the 78 cards shows what takes place directly after the classic scene, so a spread reveals not just how things are, but which direction they are heading.
The deck was conceived by Pietro Alligo. The illustrations are by Giulia F. Massaglia. The deck is published by Lo Scarabeo.
The illustrations follow the style of the Rider-Waite system. Take the Strength card: a yellow background, a green foreground, a woman embracing a large lion, and a figure-eight on its side above her head. The card backs are mint green with white lilies, red roses, and a golden cross at the centre. The borders are white. The box is light green with a red decorative top border and a red winged figure in the middle.
On The Hermit, a snake is coiled around the staff and a black wolf sits at his feet. On The Fool, a white cat leaps upward and a snail is visible on the ground. The High Priestess sits before two pillars bearing the letters B and J, with a cross on her chest.
If you already work with the Rider-Waite system, you do not need to relearn the meanings: the core imagery is familiar, and the new scenes add context. Placing an After Tarot card next to its counterpart from a classic Rider-Waite deck lets you see the 'before' and the 'after' of a situation side by side. The cards measure 66 x 120 mm. The guidebook is available in multiple languages, including English, French and German.
Do I need to relearn the card meanings to use this deck?
No. After Tarot is based on the Rider-Waite system, so the core meanings stay the same. The new images show what follows the familiar scene, adding extra context rather than replacing what you already know.
