This is not a deck that gives you instructions. Cilla Conway designed The Intuitive Tarot to combine classical tarot structure with room for your own associations. The second edition keeps that approach intact.

The cards have no borders. The image runs all the way to the edge of the cardstock. That creates an open feeling during readings and shifts attention differently than traditional decks with white frames.

What you see on the cards

The images are vivid and compact. Conway uses bright colours, lots of movement, and human figures that are recognizable without trying to be realistic. The style suggests watercolour and gouache, with a hand-drawn texture.

Each of the 78 cards follows the Rider-Waite-Smith structure: 22 Major Arcana and 56 Minor Arcana divided across four suits. The symbolism aligns with RWS, but the execution is freer. Details differ. Facial expressions are stronger.

The instruction book explains per card what Conway was working with, which symbolism she used, and how you can work with it. It is not about fixed meanings but about layers you can pick up if they resonate.

This deck invites you to look first and read later. Pull a card, lay it down, and see what happens. Which colour draws your attention, which figure, which posture. Only then do you reach for the book.

The cards measure 88 x 128 mm, slightly larger than standard tarot size. The cardstock is sturdy but not so thick that shuffling becomes difficult. The finish is matte, which makes fingerprints less visible.

Lay a card in front of you without looking up the meaning. Write down first what you see and what it brings up in you. Only then read what Conway writes about it and notice where you meet.
